Rock & Blues Muse: It’s beautifully shot by Allen Farst, creating mood, theme and story.
Rock & Blues Muse is pleased to premiere the video for Eric Jerardi’s new single “Thorns & Roses” from his forthcoming album ‘The Game’ arriving October 30.
Directed by Allen Farst, the cinematic video “Thorns & Roses” depicts Jerardi driving a 1963 yellow Stingray Corvette with split window, through quiet, after-midnight streets. Two female roller skaters are featured in the nighttime journey, carefree and young, their movements fluid. The rain adds mood and texture to this slinky number of slow blues-rock with standup bass, piano, organ, drums and the masterful Jerardi on vocals and guitar.
“Once I understood the history of that Corvette, it changed the way I looked at the entire video,” says director Farst. “It wasn’t just this beautiful yellow car that was going to look incredible moving through the city at night. It carried Eric’s father with it. Suddenly the car represented memory, history and time. That became much more interesting to me than simply making a cool car video.”
